Is frequent travel to I Can … Therapy Centre difficult?

Our dream is that one day all children with a developmental delay/disability will have access to quality therapy services.

Whilst these options are not ideal, we do offer several options to families who do not live in the area.

Option 1. A half or full day of therapy per month (or as often as practical for you and your child to travel to the area)

Option 2. Incorporate a therapy program into a family holiday. The Far South Coast of NSW is a wonderful holiday destination. We would be able to assist you find suitable accommodation, provide information on local tourist attractions and activities.

You could perhaps enjoy some respite time, whilst your child receives a block of intense therapy!

Option 3. Assessment of your child’s sensory processing difficulties using standardised assessment forms completed by the child’s parent and teacher (where appropriate), as well as completion of an initial assessment form, and a telephone interview with the parent.

Once all this information has been gathered the therapist would be able to provide a written report and home activities based on your child’s sensory processing difficulties.

Understanding your child’s individual sensory system (what they are hyper and hypo responsive to, what they seek and what they are fearful of) can provide you with a wealth of knowledge about your child that can be incorporated into everyday situations.
