I Can …Understand Group

Staff at I Can…Therapy Centre acknowledge the wonderful job parents do in raising their child with a disability. We acknowledge the joys, triumphs, simple satisfactions, loss, guilt and struggles that are experienced. Whilst we acknowledge these, we don’t fully understand them – because we have not experienced everyday life with a child with a disability.

Therefore we have formed The I Can …Understand Group. This is a group of parents, carers, and family members that meet on a regular basis to have fun, educate each other, share resources, and walk together through the journey of their child’s life.

The I Can … Understand Group is completely separate to our direct therapy and intervention sessions. There is no charge to be part of this group, and you do not need to be a current client of I Can … Therapy Centre.

The I Can … Understand Group have social gatherings and workshops throughout the year. Your child and all family members are invited to attend. Once you have joined the group you will receive emails of upcoming events and newsletters, as well as details of other members of the Group.

If you would like to join The I Can … Understand Group, please complete the Consent Form, and post or fax it to us. All details provided on this form will be given to other members of Group. (So please leave blank any sections you do not wish to share).
